Kalamata Olives got their name from the region in Peloponnese, Greece that they were first produced.

They are ready to use for their tasty smell and their delicious flavor. The full flavor of this olive is best when used at room temperature. They should be eaten within eighteen months after production date. These olives offer a true and traditional taste of Greece.

Greek Green Chalkidiki Olives

Origin: Greece

Description: Chalkidiki olives, the second most famous Greek olives type, is cultivated in the peninsula of Chalkidiki, a place where climate is very suitable for growing olive trees. It’s color is yellow-green and the weight of the fruit ranges from 6 to 10 gr. The core takes the 10% of the total weight, while the flesh has the 76-88%.

Chalkidiki olives are indicated for the production of high quality table olives and due to their big size and firm skin, they are often stuffed with plenty of flavor combinations available. They should be eaten within eighteen months after production date.

Greek Black Amfissa Olives

Origin: Greece

Description: Black olives are grown and produced mainly in Amfissa. Their colour varies from red-violet-black to purple and deep black and their taste is fleshy and slightly fruity. The shape of the olive is quite round and one of the biggest of Greek olive varieties.

The olive trees of Black Amfissa olives variety are very tall, usually 7-10 meters tall, and produce a very special variety of edible olives with black/brown color, round shape and rich flesh. These olives are among the most important edible table olives varieties in Greece. Also referred to as Black Volos, Arta or Agrinio olives, due to the fact that they are produced is several parts of Greece. They should be eaten within eighteen months after production date.

Greek Thasos Throuba Olives

Origin: Greece

Description: Thasos Throumba olives are typically left to ripen on the branch. For best results, some olive growers leave them on the branch until they start to shrivel, which ultimately means that they are just a little beyond ripe.

After gathering they are salt and oil treated. They have a wrinkled appearance, and before using they’re often soaked in water or olive oil to draw out some of the salt. They are primarily grown in the island of Thassos.

The bitter-sweet, naturally dried, Thassos olive (or Throumba Olive) is a product of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) making it universally unique.

Greek Cracked Olives

Description: Tsakistes olives are another common type of olive that can be found in Greece. The word “tsakistes” actually means “cracked”. They’re grown primarily in the Attica region of Greece.

Once they’re picked, they’re treated and seasoned with fresh lemon and garlic. This traditional way of processing gives the olives a pleasant fruity and fresh taste, firm flesh and lemon aroma.
